Jeevan Mukt Nishulk Vidyalaya (J.M.N.V.) is a non-
profit organization, founded in 2001, in North Indian
city of Chandigarh. With over 16 schools (including 4
major schools and 12 mini education centers) spread
out in various regions of Punjab, Haryana and
Chandigarh, JMNV is becoming a strong force in fight
against illiteracy. It aims to provide free education
and eradicate illiteracy in rural and urban slums.Its
motto, Shiksha Mahayagya, implies that education
system is the strongest foundation of a society and
creating a ground level up system can help uplift our
society. Jeevan Mukt Nishulak Vidyalaya is totally
committed to bring universal literacy, as ignorance
due to illiteracy is the main cause of human suffering
in life. Through its primary and vocational programs,
it is helping to shape these kids to be strong and
productive individuals of society.JMNV has received
much recognition and accolates for its work. The
organization is registered under Indian societies Act,
1860 with government of Haryana. It was recognized
by deputy commissioner of education for its
contribution towards literacy. It supports local and
state government efforts by working with them to
provide a channel of higher education and college
degree programs for kids graduating out of the
schools.
